When The Old Laundry Theatre in Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria commissioned this illustration, the manager asked for a light hearted image of Long John Silver, that looked more like a 'naughty uncle' than a devious criminal. The resulting illustration appeared at huge scale on banners across the width of local roads, plus adverts and leaflets.
